An androgenic agent, contains testosterone esters. It affects the development and function of the external genitalia, prostate, seminal vesicles, and secondary sexual characteristics (voice, hair). It participates in the formation of the body's constitution and sexual behavior, activates libido and potency, and stimulates spermatogenesis. It is an antagonist of the female sex hormones-estrogens. It has an anabolic effect, which manifests itself in stimulating protein synthesis, delaying the necessary potassium, sulfur, phosphorus for protein synthesis, increasing the fixation of calcium in the bones and increasing the muscle mass of the body. Testosterone esters have different rates of absorption and excretion, which ensures a rapid development of the effect and a long-lasting effect (up to 4 weeks) after a single administration.
The product contains 4 different testosterone esters, each of which has a different duration of action. These esters are hydrolyzed to testosterone as soon as they enter the general bloodstream.
The cmax of testosterone in the blood plasma is 70 nmol/l and occurs within 24-48 hours, returning to the initial value 21 days after administration of the drug.
Testosterone propionate after injection immediately shows its effect, lasting for 24 hours. The action of testosterone isocaproate and testosterone phenylpropionate begins after 24 hours and lasts approximately 2 weeks. Testosterone decanoate begins to act during the period when the action of testosterone isocaproate and testosterone phenylpropionate ceases, the action lasts up to 2 weeks.
In the blood plasma, testosterone is approximately 98% bound to a certain fraction of the globulins that bind testosterone and estradiol.Testosterone is biotransformed in the liver to 17-ketosteroid derivatives, which, after binding to glucuronic or sulfuric acid, are excreted by the kidneys by about 90%. 6% of the administered dose is excreted through the intestine in an unbound form.
